Tous les fichiers de config de KDE sont au même endroit depuis que je l'utilise et quelle que soit la distribution. Je suppose que pour Gnome ou d'autres bureaux c'est pareil. C'est du moins à espérer. Sinon changer de bureau, bureau pas bon.</p>

Selon les mainteneurs les applis elles-mêmes peuvent effectivement être installés dans des endroits parfois différents voire changeants du système (/usr, /usr/local, /opt ...) mais pas les fichiers de config du dossier personnel qui sont toujours au mêmes endroits depuis que j'utilise Linux.</p>

Elle reste un fondamental de Linux/Unix (tout ce qui est "sys" est quasi immuable ou bien on a sonné le clairon pour avertir) et dans un autre domaine elle est la réponse aux formats propriétaires.</p>

Qand on sait qu'on utilise quotidiennement moins d'une dizaine de "grosses" applications toujours les mêmes, c'est vite ingéré... Au pire on peut lancer une recherche juste avant de passer à table ! Les applis où je pourrais vouloir plus de souplesse que le concepteur n'en a prévu dans les "préférences" sont en général celles écrites en Java mais je n'en utilise quotidiennement qu'une seule qui est par chance bien maintenue. <p style=" margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px; -qt-user-state:0;">Pour les quelques fichiers que je "touche" régulièrement, j'ai fais des raccourcis vers leurs emplacements dans le volet de navigation du gestionnaire de fichiers (Dolphin actuellement). Si on en a beaucoup on peut se faire un dossier les regroupant, accessible par un raccourci dans la barre des tâches ou ce qui en fait office, comme déjà dit par quelq'un.</p>
